Make User Feedback Simple: Do Share Does It Right

Sharing user feedback can be painful, so why bother?

Users want to share feedback

  • To ensure that their preferences and requests are incorporated into the product.
  • Users feel a sense of ownership - it feels like we own a little piece of the product with every bit of feedback we share. If we help build it, we will help support it.

Developers need feedback

  • To prioritize feature requests.
  • To identify and fix bugs.
  • To create a community of users who will help support the product's success and respond to other users' questions. Again, if you help build it, you will help support it.

So why does sharing feedback feel like a chore?

Tzafrir Rehan created a simple solution. He recently launched a super handy Google Chrome extension called Do Share to manage Google+ posts. Submitting feedback is amazingly simple. When users click "Feedback" they are redirected to a blank Google+ post that is pre-populated with the hashtags #dosharefeedback #doshare and cc's Tzafrir Rehan. Users input feedback without being redirected to a third-party website or having to populate a form.

Submitting and collecting feedback is a snap and offers additional advantages: it helps both parties identify a user community, enables Tzafrir to filter and personalize his responses and and circle users on Google+, and promotes Do Share to those who share posts with their Google+ circles.

Thank you, Tzafrir Rehan, for finding a simple way for users to share feedback. The little things make a big difference.
